“I chose criminal defense because the work matters. Every decision affects a real person, and clients need someone who is willing to step in, take responsibility, and fight for them when it counts.”

ABOUT JON BAILEY

Quality advocacy is not a slogan to Bailey—it is the standard. It means mastering the facts, understanding the evidence inside and out, and knowing how the law actually plays out in the courtroom. As a Felony Special Prosecutor in the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and later as a prosecutor in the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, Bailey spent years in court handling serious criminal cases, making charging decisions, arguing contested hearings, and trying cases where outcomes truly mattered.

That experience now works for the defense. Bailey understands how prosecutors think, how cases are built, and where they are vulnerable. He has reviewed and handled thousands of cases, evaluated evidence under real-world pressure, and made judgment calls that directly impacted people’s lives. Today, Bailey uses that perspective to anticipate problems early, challenge weak assumptions, and construct defenses that are deliberate, strategic, and grounded in reality—not guesswork.

Bailey is driven by the responsibility of standing between his clients and the full force of the criminal justice system. Every case deserves preparation, urgency, and an advocate who is comfortable in the courtroom and relentless behind the scenes. His goal is simple: to deliver smart, aggressive, and disciplined representation that reflects the firm’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and results.

Q&A’S WITH JON

What brought you to this professional career path?

I explored other areas of law early on, but nothing held my attention the way criminal law did. The cases are fast-moving, the stakes are real, and no two days are ever the same. It’s the kind of work that forces you to stay sharp and fully engaged.
I chose criminal defense because the work matters. Every decision affects a real person, and clients need someone who is willing to step in, take responsibility, and fight for them when it counts.

What do you enjoy most about working in the legal profession?

I enjoy helping people through a process that is overwhelming and unfamiliar to most. The criminal justice system can feel intimidating, especially when the stakes are high and the rules are unclear. Being able to step in, explain what’s happening, present the strongest version of a client’s case, and work toward a fair outcome is what makes this work meaningful to me.

What are some of your hobbies outside of the office?

Outside of work I enjoy golfing, training Brazilian jiu jitsu, reading, going to the gym, and eating a good meal with great company.

Why did you join Gallian Firm?

I joined Gallian Firm because I wanted to work alongside people who genuinely care – about their clients, the quality of their work, and doing things the right way. This is a firm that values preparation, accountability, and constant improvement, and that matters to me.
The culture here is built around high standards and real advocacy, and I wanted to be part of a team that takes that responsibility seriously.
